EMPIRICAL INSTITUTE is a philosophy institute founded by public philosopher Melvin Poh in 2026. Building on the spirit and community of Empirical Thought, we bring together philosophers, researchers and curious minds to explore how philosophical thinking can help us navigate the challenges of modern life.
Philosophy exists to help us live better. It’s meant to guide us through difficult conversations, clarify the choices that matter, and make sense of the feelings we can’t quite name. Yet for too long, it’s been locked away, written in language that shuts people out rather than invites them in.
